Wine characteristics and description
The classic homeland of Cabernet Sauvignon is Bordeaux, yet Gorizia Hills pampers this variety with its moderate Mediterranean climate and mineral soil. The classic ruby colour with a light violet tint, reveals a seductive bouquet of plums, fresh black currants and other dark forest fruits. Herbs are also slightly noticeable. We can taste the richness of various forest fruits, especially raspberries and wild cherries at the forefront. Tannins are barely perceptible. It is fresh but very pleasant, soft drinking wine, with exceptionally beautiful taste.
Although Cabernet Sauvignon is suitable for immediate consumption, in good conditions it can age for a minimum of six years. The richness of fresh fruit scents and freshness of the body will produce a mature and elegant note at the time of ripening.
Wine is recommended to all kinds of red meat, prepared in various ways. We can also pair it with simply prepared poultry, veal, pork, smoked meat, salami, medium-aged cheeses and mildly seasoned vegetarian food and risottos.
