Wine characteristics and description
Furmint is the oldest variety of the Styrian environment and has been present there for at least 1000 years. In the hands of a wise winemaker, it is an exceptional and grateful variety, since it enables the wide-range of styles in production. The colour is light, golden yellow. It has a gentle, youthful and wide-ranged aroma, which evokes ripe yellow fruits – lemon, apple and pear. The taste is dry, with slightly oily texture, full, slightly mineral.
Ageing potential: The wine remains in its best shape for at least 3 to 4 years. In excellent vintages, as it was in 2015, it can also last fresh up to ten years.
Food pairing: It can be a nice aperitif, it’s great for fish dishes and raw fish, such as carpaccio and sushi.
Alcohol content: 13,0 % vol.
